Anyone running a Daniel Defense for home defense?

I use my DDM4 V7 as my primary home defense rifle and I want to compare setups with other people doing the same. Right now I'm running a Surefire M600DF on a 12 o'clock rail mount, Aimpoint PRO and a two-point sling that I can dump if needed. There is no suppressor right now but I'm thinking about it. What are you running on yours specifically for HD and what did you deliberately leave off because it was complicating the setup rather than improving it?

You’re basically already in the sweet spot for a defensive AR. Most refinements are about reducing clutter and not adding more, people usually prioritize a solid light, dependable optic and keeping the rifle as snag-free as possible for indoor movement.

That’s already a pretty streamlined setup. I’ve seen a lot of people eventually drop anything extra like bulky grips or switches and just stick with a good light, optic and a simple sling like you’ve got. Suppressor is one of those things that adds value but also changes the balance of the gun quite a bit, so it’s a tradeoff depending on your space and priorities.
